You Are Mine

“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;” Psalm 139:14

Read this verse over and over. What is the Holy Spirit whispering to you?

This morning the whisper I hear is “you are Mine.” Our verse is David admitting that God made us, and we are His. This means that God made us each special. Think about that.

In Psalm 139, David talks about not being able to hide from God, that He knows all about us, in fact He knew us in the special place before we were formed. That is a God of love. He formed us. Therefore, life is precious. God gives us value that we can’t give, nor can we take it away. Meditate on that thought for a moment. What does that mean to you? How would that change the way you live? How you treat others?

Each of us has value in God’s eyes. There is no one who is throw away or worthless. Everyone has great value. That is why we should serve one another. That is why it is so important that we share the Gospel. When you look at someone you are looking at someone loved by God. You are looking at someone that God deemed so valuable that He died for them. How does that change your attitude toward others?

This Lent consider treating everyone as if they are of great value to you as they are to God. Show them the love they need. Show them the value they have in Jesus. Let them know that God says, “you are Mine!”
