God’s Love

This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.” 1 John 4:9

Read this verse over and over. What is the Holy Spirit whispering to you?

If you have ever wondered if God loved you, 1 John 4:9-10 is the answer to that question. He loved you to death. What we are to do about it is in verse 11 “Since God so loved us, we ought to love one another.” Why should we love one another? Vs 12 “No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and His love is made complete in us.” Let that sink in.

God loves us so much that He sent His one and only Son to die in our place. But love isn’t complete if there is no reaction to it. In other words, until we love others as ourselves, God’s love is left hanging. When we pass God’s love on it completes the circle. God’s love can accomplish its purpose. To redeem us so that we are free to love others. We are free to pass God’s love on so that they can in turn pass it on. Like ripples in the water if the ripples aren’t allowed to keep flowing they stop. Don’t let the ripples stop with you.

How can you show God’s love today? What is the Holy Spirit guiding you to do to show God’s love? How can you be ready to pass His love on to those you meet today?
